dumpster rental

Construction and demolition projects can be expensive, whether you’re doing home improvement, razing a building to the ground.

It’s a great idea to rent a dumpster to dispose of large amounts of building or demolition waste, and can make life much easier. However, it can be an expensive undertaking!

At Olcese, we fully understand that you may want to find ways to slash the expenses of dumpster rentals in Reno, Sparks, Fernley, and Dayton. This is especially so as the price can soon skyrocket with just a few bad decisions related to your dumpster rental.

So, what can you do to reduce your costs?

Choose the right size of dumpster

It’ll be no great surprise to learn that the smaller the dumpster, the lower the cost of renting it. However, you should be wary of renting too small a dumpster, given the potential need for repeat refills which may necessitate a longer rental period.
Here at Olcese, we offer six sizes of dumpster for your Reno rental needs- so you really are spoiled for choice. For industrial waste removal, we have three, four and six yard front load containers. We also offer ten, twenty, thirty and forty yard roll-off containers for commercial waste purposes.

Those choosing our smaller dumpsters have the perfect means of disposing of the waste generated by small DIY jobs or room clearances, whereas our bigger dumpsters can hold long items like radiators and doors, and a much greater total volume of waste.
In short, it’s pretty crucial to pick the right size of dumpster if you want to avoid more dumpster rentals later at additional expense.

Don’t place restricted items in your dumpster

No one wants to be fined! Additional fees may be imposed if you place no-no items into your dumpster. Olcese Environmental Services cannot accept the following items in our dumpsters: refrigerators, freezers, tyres, asbestos roofing sheets, unsealed oil or paint cans.

Don’t overload the dumpster

It’s important not to overload your dumpster, not least as it needs to be safely lifted and removed from your property. An overloaded dumpster may also result in the vehicle exceeding its legal weight limit, which can attract a hefty fine for the driver. This is why many dumpster rental companies reserve the right to refuse collection or apply an additional charge if your skip is filled beyond the top of the container.

Don’t rent a dumpster for an unlimited time period

While renting a dumpster for an indefinite amount of time may seem like a good cost-saving measure, you often pay a greater premium for that privilege. Bear in mind that you may not need to use the dumpster for longer than a few days! Here at Olcese Environmental Services, we will always help you to decide what length of dumpster rental is best for your needs. This helps us to keep more of our dumpsters available at any one time, and our costs consequently lower.

Avoid paying a permit

We’re not advising you to do anything illegal- you could be heavily fined if you put a dumpster on a public road without obtaining a license to do so. However, you won’t need such a permit if you have the dumpster entirely placed on your own private land, such as your driveway. If needed, Olcese Environmental Services can obtain a permit on your behalf, adding the fee to the overall dumpster rental cost. We’re good like that!
